Our first adoption journey was 3 years long and filled with heartache, loss and pain. Our second journey was equally as painful but only 18 months of waiting. I longed to hold my daughters so deeply that it hurt to breathe at times but I never ever lost sight of the fact that somewhere out there were MY babies and they needed us as much as we needed them. However the weeks rolled into months and the months into years and we daily learned to rest in the fact that the Lord had us in His hands.  With both of our daughters...

We knew that making an adoption plan would be an emotional decision for an expectant mother. Actually witnessing the raw pain of our son's birth mom was an experience that will live in our hearts forever. Without a doubt, we knew that she made her decision with love... She loved him so much that she was willing to allow us to be his parents, to give him the life

she wanted for him, but couldn't provide herself. While at the hospital, we had several days to share thoughts, diaper changes, feedings, and honest answers to...

I am a single Mom and adopted my son from a cousin who was not in a place to raise another child. My Mom and I were in the delivery room with my cousin when he was born and he’s been my heart ever since! He is 5 years old now and is my everything! We are not the typical family or adoption story, but God had his hand in our entire story and I am truly blessed to be his Mama!

I’m really not even sure how to put into words what adoption has taught me. The two words that immediately pop into mind related to adoption are l...

When I was dealing with infertility, I remember thinking of adoption as second best, and as though I would be a failure if I had to adopt and couldn't have biological children. When I started the process, I was still a little hesitant.

Once I met my son's birth mom, that opinion changed. Seeing how she loved her son selflessly enough to give him to someone who could care for him the way he needed showed me the beauty of adoption. It showed me that adoption isn't a backup plan, but an amazing gift.

It's a beautifu...

Adoption wasn't on our hearts until the Lord put it there, when our biological daughter was four years old. We prayed about it and felt unmistakably led to grow our family through foster care and adoption. In April of 2015, our agency reached out to see if we would like to be considered for a 7-month-old little boy named Noah.

On a Sunday morning a few weeks ago, in the presence of God and our church family, we dedicated our sons, Micah and Ethan. Afterward, while singing praises to God, the tears began to flow. It was all I could do not to sob out loud. The memories were rushing in, flashes of so many church services in years past, Christmas Eve services, Mother's Day services, Sundays when children were dedicated, Sundays watching fathers baptize their sons ... so many Sundays when I cried silent tears, my heart shattering inside, secr...

The Saturday before Mother's Day is Birth Mother's Day, a day set aside to celebrate the brave women who made the difficult choice to place a child for adoption. Today, I will join many adoptive moms who will publicly honor the women who gave life to our children. Today we will celebrate the women who are on our hearts, remembered & prayed for, every day. Many do not understand this love I have for these women, the women who gave life to my children. I am expected to resent the woman who battled with addiction...
